Common Running Injuries and locations of Pain.

What do all these injuries have in common (besides being common injuries themselves)? That they can all be caused by sudden overuse!
We see these injuries most often in the weekend warrior or the otherwise sedentary person who suddenly begins running miles a day. Running has great cardiovascular benefits but if our tendons and ligaments aren't used to the loading and repetitive weight-bearing, overuse injury will result. 


The key to prevention here is to begin and progress gradually ll!S. We can avoid exceeding our tendons' capabilities for loading through gradual progression and also through listening to our bodies. Muscle soreness may be no cause for alarm, but joint pain should not be ignored.
