The mega show "Sardar – The Game Changer," produced by Rajesh Bokadia under the banner of Ramesh Bokadia's BMB Entertainment, is being broadcast on Doordarshan, showcasing the life of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a visionary, freedom fighter, and a key figure in the integration of princely states into independent India.
The serial, based on the book "Sardar – The Game Changer" by Geeta Manek, is co-produced by C. Bokadia and has been airing on DD National since March 10, 2024.
Directed by Dayal Nihalani, the serial "Sardar – The Game Changer" is broadcast every Sunday at 11:30 AM and repeats at 10:00 PM on DD National.
Geeta Manek's book, "Sardar – The Game Changer," serves as the basis for this serial, depicting Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's life after the Second World War, the announcement of independence from the British in India, the partition into Hindustan, Pakistan, and Princely States, the British conspiracy to weaken India, Mountbatten's role in making Viceroy in India, the establishment of a constitutional account, entrusting Sardar Patel with the responsibility of handling princely states, and Sardar Patel's crucial contribution in integrating more than 562 princely states.
The serial features renowned actors like Rajit Kapoor playing the central character of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Apart from him, Rajeshwari Sachdev as Manibehn Patel, V.P. Menon as Rakesh Chaturvedi Om, portraying Gandhi, Sanjay Nehru as Sanjay, Rajesh Khaira as Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and Rik McLean as Mountbatten are also part of the cast.
Geeta Manek, along with acclaimed journalist and playwright Ashu Patel and eminent playwright Viral Rachh, has written the screenplay for this serial.
Geeta Manek reveals that for the past seven to eight years, she has been involved in research work related to Sardar Patel's life and Radhika Kariya Sardar Patel's research for the past five years. Both Radhika Kariya and Khushali Dave have collaborated on research related to Sardar Patel and are associated with this show.
The cinematography for the serial is handled by Akashdeep Pandey, and Pradeep serves as the art director. The music is composed by Harpreet.
The serial has been shot at Sathyam Studios in Naya Gaon, Mumbai, and its grand launching took place on March 5.
Sanjeev Kumar, producer of the Hindi film industry since the film Rivaaj (1972), and known for producing hit films like Teri Meherbaniyan (1985), Pyaar Jhukta Nahi (1985), and Naseeb Apna Apna (1986), has made his mark as a producer with more than 50 films in Bollywood. C. Bokadia entered the television industry with the serial "Sardar – The Game Changer" in 2015.
