On Saturday evening, Serena and Venus Williams joined the 53-year-old actor at the 33rd Annual Producers Guild of America Awards.

At the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, Smith and the tennis legends attended a gala honoring the film King Richard. Smith plays Serena and Venus Williams' father, Richard Williams.

Smith looked dapper in a blue suit with black trim along lapels of the blazer for the night out. The actor was dressed in a black vest, a white dress shirt, as well as a black-tie underneath.

Serena Williams, 40, wore a burgundy mini dress with a pink fabric train attached at the back for the evening out with the Williams sisters. Near her chest, the outfit also had dozens of crystal-like embellishments.

Meanwhile, Venus, 41, wore a white shoulderless gown with a slit down the left side.

King Richard follows Serena and Venus as they begin their tennis careers and progress to become world champions. The movie director Reinaldo Marcus Green (Joe Bell).

Saniyya Sidney plays a young Venus, as well as Demi Singleton plays a young Serena, along with Smith. Aunjanue Ellis, Jon Bernthal, Dylan McDermott, and Tony Goldwyn also star in the film.

Smith won the 2022 SAG Award for outstanding performance by a male star in a leading role late last month (he has also won a BAFTA, Critics' Choice, as well as Golden Globe award for the role, and also is up for an Oscar nomination this year).

Smith cried during his acceptance speech, describing his victory for King Richard as "one of the greatest moments" of his career. He then waxed eloquently about his titular character Richard's real-life legacy.

"Richard Williams is like no other dreamer you've ever met," Smith said. "He possesses a belief power that borders on insanity and occasionally crosses it, which is necessary to transform something from impossible to possible."

Before concluding his remarks, Smith made a special mention of the Williams family (Venus was in attendance for the February ceremony).

"Venus, Serena, and the Williams family, you entrusted your story to our group and me. You didn't agree to sign it until you saw the finished product. I understand I understand. That's fine. That is true because we all make mistakes from time to time. "He made a joke.

"But when I got the call, and you said you loved the movie, I just wanted to thank you so much... It gave me great pleasure to honor your family and tell your story to the rest of the world. Thank you very much. "Smith concluded.
