Why metaverse fashion income is a big thing for the industry?

Conversations about the metaverse and fashion are multi-layered. First is the sustainability factor: brands can reduce their waste by producing clothes digitally. (While this is fine on the surface, it should be noted that digital clothing created in the form of irreplaceable tokens, or NFTs, can have a significant carbon footprint: one NFT carbon footprint can equal two months of electricity consumption per capita, for example.) the question arose of building a more extensive fan base, which prompted brands like Balenciaga and Gucci to use local digital communities to promote and sell their collections. There are also steps to further democratize the industry outside the fashion capitals and invite-only Fashion Week events.

Last week (March 24-27), some 50 brands brought their virtual collections to the new Luxury Fashion District platform, modeled on Avenue Montaigne in Paris. Last November, virtual real estate company Metaverse Group bought the 6,000-square-foot property for a record $2.4 million.

Dolce & Gabbana, Hugo Boss, Tommy Hilfiger, Estee Lauder, Etro, and Roberto Cavalli are some leading fashion brands participating in the Metaverse fashion show. They display digital outfits (to wear avatars) on virtual routes and sell a mix of NFT and digital goods from their Decentraland store.

Tommy Hilfiger went on to detail that he collaborated with Boson Portal, a meta-universal marketplace that offers "a virtual lifestyle and cultural venue in Decentraland." Monday's announcement said the Tommy Hilfiger store would be located on the Boson portal. Interestingly, goods from the Tommy Hilfiger store are purchased as assets with irreplaceable tokens (NFT), but owners can redeem NFTs for "physical products delivered directly to the customer's door." But if that all sounds good, what makes the Metaverse runway show one of the biggest problems in the industry?

When attending an event at Decentraland, the process can be prolonged, confusing, or not working. No music can be played on arrival, or multiple audio tracks can be played simultaneously. Plain has learned that you have to start the music in the metaverse before the guests arrive. Otherwise, if the DJ begins after that and people don't reload their browsers, they might not hear the music.
