Unfinished project: America's dream of running a high-speed bullet train remains incomplete even after 14 years
America's dream of running a high-speed bullet train has been proving elusive for 14 years. A project to run a high-speed bullet from Los Angeles to San Francisco began in 2008. Then the cost of this project was fixed at 2.71 lakh crore rupees.
The project is now expected to be completed by 2030, but construction is now underway on part of the 171-mile starter line connecting several California cities. The result was that as time progressed, so did the cost of the project. So now people believe that this project cannot be completed within the stipulated time frame.
The California High Speed Rail Commission released a new budget in February. In which the cost of this project is estimated to increase to 8.65 lakh crores. In three months, its expenditure has increased to 10.95 lakh crores.
The cost of such projects has increased to Rs 8.24 lakh crore. The speed of construction on the starter system of railways has been increased. On the other hand, according to estimates widely used by engineers and project managers, the project has a daily cost of Rs. 15 crore is spent. Tom Richards, president of the Development Authority of the Central Valley city of Fresno, says they have a few different decisions to make.
Democratic leaders expressed doubts over the project
This Rs 8.2 lakh crore railway project Vista has no source of funding, as the Democratic Party MPs do not believe in the reliability of bullet trains. State Assembly Speaker Anthony Renton called the project fraught with problems.
