Two people have been detained in Cyprus to travel with forged documents

Cyprus's police have arrested two people in connection with a forged travel document case.

According to a report published in In Cyprus, the two people are a 53-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, both citizens of third countries who arrived at Cyprus's Larnaca Airport to travel to a European country, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.

According to local media in Cyprus, it was discovered that the woman's travel documents did not belong to her during passport control. At the same time, she admitted that the papers were given to her by her uncle, a 53-year-old man.

During questioning, the man admitted that the travel documents belonged to his daughter and gave them to the 20-year-old woman.

Cyprus is not the only European country experiencing such difficulties.

Last month, two men were apprehended by police in Portugal after attempting to flee the country with fake Portuguese passports.

In this regard, the Paphos police spokesman stated that a 29-year-old man had arrived at Paphos airport to board a flight to Marseille, France.

The officer emphasized that he presented a Portuguese passport that lacked security details. Previously, Greek authorities reported that police officers apprehended 19 internationals in the Hellenic Republic after entering the country with forged travel documents.

According to a previous report published by SchengenVisaInfo.com, the defendants who planned to travel to Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Georgia were arrested in Greece after presenting false travel documents "issued" by authorities in Portugal, France, Italy, Germany, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Georgia.

In addition to forged travel documents, some countries are dealing with forged admission letters.
