According to the Washington Post, the social media firm will provide the world's richest man with the key to a data stream containing more than 500 million daily tweets.
Several firms already pay for access to the data, which has a real-time record of tweets, the users of the device tweets from, and information regarding the accounts that the Post reported.
The New York Times also reported that Twitter would allow Musk to regard its "firehose" of daily traffic in reply to legal dangers that the deal would be in trouble otherwise.
Musk warned Twitter on Monday that he might step away from his $44bn agreement to acquire the firm if it fails to deliver the data on spam and fake accounts he seeks.
