Travis Barker goes to Robert Kardashian to ask permission to marry Courtney's daughter
During Thursday's episode of The Kardashians, Chris Jenner emotionally shared the heartfelt gesture of his future son-in-law.
Travis Barker made sure Courtney Kardashian's parents knew about her plans to propose to the Push founder late last year.
During Thursday's episode of the Hulu Kardashians series, fans needed to see over 46-year-old Travis call Chris Jenner on the phone and ask permission to marry their 43-year-old daughter.
Sharing an emotional call to daughter Kim Kardashian ahead of her live debut on Saturday night, Chris revealed that Travis has gone to great lengths to receive the blessing of Courtney and Kim's late father, Robert Kardashian Sr.
"He asked for his hand, and I thought, 'I want to cry now,'" said Chris, 66, as he made up for Kim's dressing room. "It was so cute and so gentle. And then he said he went to your dad's grave and asked your dad's permission, and I just lost him.
In tears, Chris added: "Everyone is happy; I just wanted your dad to be here to see him. It's hard for me to think this is his first marriage. "It's crazy he never married," said Kim, 41, before joking, "As long as I have enough for all of us!"
Robert Sr. death at the age of 59 on September 30, 2003, less than eight weeks after being diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Apart from Kim and Courtney, he also shares daughter Chloe Kardashian and son Rob Kardashian Jr. with Chris.
"It's going to be hard for her, but ... you can't just keep your life out of it," Chloe, 37, told Ellen DeGeneres before appearing on her talk show. "No, I don't think so," said DeGeneres, 64. "I just thought it would be [difficult], especially since he said he didn't want to get married."
"That's the part that makes me feel bad," said Chloe. "But I don't know; you procrastinate, you lose." "I wonder if Scott knows," said Kylie, 24, during her trip.
"I know it bothers me sometimes because I don't know how stable he is now," said Kendall, 26. Echoing Chloe's earlier mood, Kylie added, "Courtney needs to move on with her life and be happy."
