Tom Hiddleston's Loki may appear in Doctor Strange 2 per a new leak

Key Takeaways:

The theatrical release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is less than two months away. Despite this, the Marvel film is shrouded in mystery. For starters, it's still unclear which characters and actors will make cameo appearances in the film.

However, every week, there is a new rumor or leak about it. The most recent one claims that Tom Hiddleston's Loki will appear in Benedict Cumberbatch's film. Marvel Studios has yet to confirm it, as is customary.

Loki was last seen on screen in Avengers: Endgame, where Thanos killed him (Josh Brolin). Later, the character was given his spin-off series, Loki, in which the concepts of variants and multiverse were thoroughly explored. Given that Doctor Strange 2 also deals with these themes, Loki's appearance in it isn't out of the question.

The latest information comes from an interview with voice actor Peter Lontzek, who plays Loki in German. "There is a new Marvel film that I am currently working on that I cannot talk about," Peter said in a video interview with a local outlet.

According to fans, in other parts of the interview, he hinted that the film would be released this summer. Doctor Strange 2 and Thor: Love and Thunder are the only Marvel films set to hit theatres this year. This backs up a claim made by The Hollywood Reporter earlier this year that Loki will appear in Doctor Strange 2.

Apart from Loki, the film is expected to bring Iron Man back to the MCU, though Tom Cruise will play him. In the same way, John Krasinski is rumored to be playing Mr. Fantastic in the film.- Patrick Stewart, who played Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men films, is the only actor who has confirmed his appearance in the film.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, directed by Sam Raimi of Spider-Man fame, is set to hit theatres on May 6, 2022. Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, and Chiwetel Ejifor also star.
