The campus of Kentucky State University (KSU) in Frankfort was shaken by tragedy on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, when a shooting at a student residence hall left one student dead and another critically wounded. The shooting involved three individuals. Two victims, both current Kentucky State University students, suffered gunshot wounds. The suspect was arrested at the scene by university police and later identified as Jacob Lee Bard of Evansville, Indiana. Officials confirmed that the suspect is not a student at KSU.
