The game became a cultural sensation earlier this month, with individuals sharing their scores in the shape of emojis. According to the Times, just 90 individuals played the game on Nov. 1. Nearly 300,000 individuals were playing as of mid-January. The numeral is currently in the millions.
The Times stated that it received Wordle for a fee in the low seven figures in a release. Wordle will be free to play for fresh and existing players. It counted that no modifications would be made to its gameplay.
