The Future Of Fintech Must Have A Conscience.

“In the financial sector, too many companies are guilty of using Corporate Social Responsibility as a branding tool,” says Pierrick Jamaux, Blockchain entrepreneur. “Any company that holds people’s money, or processes transactions has a unique opportunity to genuinely change the world for good.”


At the beginning of 2021, Pierrick and his colleagues founded a Blockchain services company called hi, with the goal of building inclusive and scalable technologies to serve 1 billion people globally. With an estimated 1.7 billion people in the world still without a bank account and access to basic rights such as the ability to send and save money, take out credit, or buy insurance, hi’s first initiative is a Next Gen Digital Banking platform.

“Credit Unions are not perceived to be sexy,” says Pierrick. “But they should be! The Credit Union model, which generates value and then redistributes that value to its members makes so much sense to me. At hi, we are bringing the Credit Union into the modern era. We are putting it on the blockchain, where we can deliver near-zero fees, super fast transaction times, all experienced via an easy-to-use App.”

After just 5 months of operations, hi has 1.5 million members from +180 markets and counting. Members buy into the “union” by earning or purchasing the hi Dollar - a cryptocurrency - and then get financial and lifestyle benefits depending on the number of tokens they hold. For people living in less developed territories where internet speeds are slower, most of these services can be accessed via a bot on chat platforms like WhatsApp or Telegram.

“We believe not only that equal access to financial services is a fundamental human right, but also that by using Decentralised Finance, everyone should also have the opportunity to grow their wealth without needing complex trading platforms or large sums of capital to get started,” says Pierrick.

“Our commitment to changing the world, starts not with a brand campaign or sponsorship, but at the very core of our product experience. Ours is one of the fastest growing Blockchain communities globally. We’re set to become a daily tool in households from London to Lagos to La Paz as we target 10 million members after the first 12 months of operations”
