Thailand Child Care Center Shooting: Massacre of 34, Including 22 Children; A deranged former police officer killed his wife and son and committed suicide


An assailant opened fire at a child care center in Thailand on Thursday. 34 people including 22 children have died in this incident. The firing incident took place in Nongbua Lamphu, Northern Province. According to reports, the attacker was former police officer Panya Kamrab (34). He was fired in a drug case.


Kamrab committed suicide after firing at the child care center. Before that he also killed his wife and son.


Pregnant among the dead, when the firing happened, people realized that firecrackers were being burst


Police said the assailant had first killed five staff members of the child care center, including an eight-month pregnant teacher. When the firing started, people felt that firecrackers were bursting somewhere.


The accused was dismissed from the job some time ago


The name of the accused is said to be Police Lieutenant Panya Khamrab. The murdered former police officer is 34 years old. He was stationed at the nearest police station. It is said that he was fired from his job some time ago. According to the police, he went home after firing at the child care center. where he shot dead his wife and son. The children were sleeping in the child care center when the accused opened fire.


12 injured, 8 in critical condition


Deputy National Police Chief Pol Lt Gen Torsak Sukhvimol said that 34 people were killed, while 22 people were injured. He has confirmed that the former police officer opened fire at the child care center. He said that 12 people have been injured in the firing, out of which 8 are in critical condition.
