Key Sentence:
- If there's one television show that viewers across the country look forward to all year long, it's the third season of Inheritance.
- Until that happens, though, we have the magic of Strictly Come Dancing 2021's sparkling floor to guide us through that chilly winter Saturday night.
Greta Thunberg will be pleased that Bruno Tonioli is not planning to include his weekly transatlantic trip in this year's jury - he is in this line due to Covid travel restrictions. Instead, Anton Du Becke is back, along with Motzi Mabuze, Chief Justice Shirley Ballas, and my dear Craig Revel Horwood, my dear. We heard from celebrity athletes of the year and learned the following 15 things.
1. Dan Walker was called "Sticky-Leaks" by other celebrities.
Our hats off to whoever created this exclusive Wikileaks link to the WhatsApp group after the TV presenter accidentally revealed a big secret. "I accidentally gave the Strictly Come Dancing start date on Breakfast, which was a total mistake," Walker recalled. "The reason I'm doing this is that I go to the post office, and there are four incredible women I've always had a good conversation with, and they're obsessed with.
"And they said, 'Oh, we're looking forward to the September 18 launch.' So in my head, it's like, "Oh, everybody knows it started." That's why I talked about it at breakfast. But they just guessed it, and I had no idea it hadn't been announced."
2. Judy Love doesn't like high heels.
"How's the preparation? Baby with sparkling water," said the Loose Women participant before her dance floor debut. "And I watched some videos. I'm very aware that I keep my body moving, swim a little now and then, and just concentrate properly."
She may be one of the funniest contestants of the year and the most infectious laugh, but Love doesn't like her odds when rocking specific shoes during the series.
"I'll make it 100% real with you; I can't run in high heels," she said. "Can I dance in it with my girls and a few glasses of Prosecco on a Friday night, but in professional quality? [He raises an eyebrow.] Let's see how it works."
3. Sarah Davis' children were disappointed that she wasn't a real dragon.
The entrepreneur who joined Dragon Day in 2019 says that he always has to work extra hard to impress his kids.
"My 2 boys are four and seven, and I don't think they're getting [strictly]," Davis explains. "I showed them part of the show, but when I went to Dragon Day, they were very disappointed. "We had a big party to start the show, they sat and watched TV and they finally said, 'Mom, you're a total ***.' You don't look like a dragon, do you? And it's not the day.'"
4. Greg Wise denied Emma Thompson a well-deserved rest.
"I'm the oldest here; I'm a grandfather," said the actor. "So I had to try to imitate Mr. Bailey last year because we were the same age." (Comedian Billy Bailey, then 55, became the oldest Strictly winner in 2020 and professional partner Oti Mabuse.)
Wise married Lady Emma Thompson in 2003, but his collaboration with Strictly derailed his vacation plans.
"He's been making solid films since January and has made three films in a row," he explained. "We had an enjoyable fall planned. We wanted to go on vacation together for the first time in seven years. And in a five-minute conversation, the whole fall kicked in the tall grass, and here I am, but he's excited. "
We prefer to express our joy in the comfort of a beach in Cyprus, but it's good for him that he supports it.
As a presenter, Stevenson is considered a rather cheerful person, so he would only offer the opportunity to show a different side. "Humor is a big part of me, and I hope it can provide energy. But I can't wait to scare people into doing something like a pass that you have to take seriously," he said.
"I want people to watch and say, 'Oh, I didn't know Rhys could do this.' So I'll be in the mirror practicing this face. Maybe I'll start writing Liam Neeson's line from Taken to get the mode right." Stevenson will be looking for this brilliant trophy. He will find it. And he will take it.
