Story of Brave Heart- Gujarat Jamangar’s Prince Jam Saheb in Second World War- II. A perfect examp
India is a place of Gods with Rich culture from Ages. We have taught the world How to live life, for us Athithi is Devo Bhavah. We Indian always keep our hearts and home open for everyone. India is not a Name its ideology which is different from the whole world and most successful Belief till today. We respect every religion and people.
India has always given the message of peace to the world. We have also seen Ashoka, Shivaji, Maharana Pratap and Bhagat Singh Indian Brave Heart who never Bough down in their life in the toughest situation. On the other side, we got Mahatma Gandhi who taught everyone Ahinsa Parmo Dharam. This shows India’s Brave Hearts and peaceful People. For us, the whole world is one family “Vasudev Kutumb”.
My today’s Story is on Brave Indian King, who showed the whole world you should never be afraid of anyone in life and help people who are in need. This story is from the Second World War when Hitler was at his Peak and was on Rampage. This Story is of Poland Indian Relation and one king’s Bravery who gave place to live in his town when the whole world denied. Story of about Gujarat’s Jamnagar Princely state.
When Hitler started to take tall over European countries the whole world was in fear of what will happen to the world. Poland came into trouble as Hitler started to demolish them. People of Poland were in trouble and in World War-II. Poland army decided to send a ship of people to other countries so that their families and the public can be saved from Hitler Army.
Group of approximately 700 Women’s and children’s sent in the ship to save them from the German Army. Polish army got success in safely moving the ship into the sea. Captain of the ship was informed to take shelter at the place where they can remain safe from Hitler’s German Army.
It was a heart-melting time for Polish people. Last words said were at that time if we remain alive we will meet again in life.
The Ship started to find shelter from European countries to Asian countries. But no one at that time was ready to give them Shelter because the whole world was afraid of Hitler. Ship journey started from Europe to Asian Countries just imagine so many countries would have told No to polish people. No one was ready to give them shelter for even a single day.
At last, they reach the Indian Continent, at the time British Raj was there. The ship reached Mumbai Port where British Governor denied helping them and did not allow the ship to stay at their port. Just imagine the condition of that Group the last place of hope was shattered.
But when one Kshatriya Maharaja Shree Jam Saheb of Jamnagar Digvijay Singhji Jadeja came to know about this ship and Polish People he straight away told his army to allow this ship to stay at our place and they should not face any problem in our town. This is what we call an Indian Culture, Courage to stand against Hitler and also against the British.
These Polish People lived for Nine Years in Jamnagar with Peace and Love. They were extremely thankful and Humbled by Jam Saheb’s Humanity and Hospitality. Jam Saheb always visit them, their children’s were given Education in the best school which was an Army school in Jamnagar. Polish group told them Bapu with love and Respect. As in Indian culture, Bapu means Bahadur Purush (Brave Man). A Man with Lion Heart who fears to none and other meaning is a father as Jam Saheb was the State of Jamnagar so it was his duty to take care of every person who lives in Jamnagar.
After World War-II ended Polish People moved to their own place. This Group of people never forgets the Gujarat-Jamnagar’s Hospitality and love which they got from there.
After a few years, one kid from that group became The Prime Minister of Poland. From that time the relation of Poland and Jamnagar was totally different. Even today after so many years their grandsons visit the place in Jamnagar where they were given Shelter.
Many Roads and Government schemes of Poland were given the name of our Jam Saheb. They also publish an article on Jam Saheb every year.
This story shows us the true spirit of Indian Culture how we live and our Hospitality to the people who came to our Door. Hat’s off to Jam Saheb for his Courage and making India Proud with Nobel Work of helping People who are in need.
