Squid Game star HoYeon Jung pays homage to Korean culture with her outfit at the 2022 SAG Awards.

The 2022 Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) is a lavish event with many celebrities putting their best fashion feet on the red carpet. Similarly, Squid Game actress HoYeon Jung, a former track model, transformed her head into a stunning black dress and custom hair scarf - but there's more to her outfit than meets the eye.

Jung, who won Outstanding Performance by a Female Actress in a Drama Series, opted for an eye-catching, hand-embroidered Louis Vuitton gown with silver crystals and buttons. The strapless ensemble features a slit at the thigh and pockets on both sides, giving it a chic look. However, the dress is unique because the intricate details are designed in a traditional Korean style and borrowed from the culture.

Not only her clothes are extraordinary, but also the 27-year-old woman's hair accessories. To complete her outfit and honor Korea's rich culture, she adorned her elegant braid with a matching hair tie designed to look like a daenggi, an accessory used in braided hair accessories in Korea for centuries.

"I learned about the inspiration behind the Louis Vuitton HoYeon gown, which featured (ranging from) traditional Korean embroidery to traditional Daenggi. The dress fits so well that it's familiar to the Korean homeland, but how fashionable and cool it feels," Jung's hairstylist Jenny Cho said in a statement.

"I can't hide the fact that I was very emotional about how I had to style her hair in a modern style with an elegant traditional Korean braid and put Daengi in Hoyon's hair.
