SPORTS: Yuvraj Singh questions batting coach Vikram Rathour's ability in the T20 format.

Yuvraj Singh has questioned Indian batting coach Vikram Rathour's ability in the T20 format to lead and direct Indian cricketers. Last year, Vikram Rathour replaced Sanjay Bangar as the Indian batting coach. During an Instagram session on Tuesday, Yuvraj said, "He (Rathour) is my friend; do you think he can help players of this T20 generation? Has he played cricket at the level to help them?" Rathour featured in six Tests and seven ODIs for India in 1996-97.

Winner of the 2007 World T20 and 2011 World Cup Yuvraj believes in man management of players via an insight on their personalities. He said, "If I was coach I'll tell goodnight to Jasprit Bumrah at 9pm and take Hardik Pandya out for a drink at 10 pm...that's how you deal with different personalities."

Former all-rounder also tipped Hardik Pandya to break his record of fastest T20 fifty saying, "Hardik Pandya could be the guy who breaks my record of fastest T20 fifty. He has all the making of a good all-rounder, but then again you need to have someone to guide him in the team."

Yuvraj also took a sly dig at Ravi Shashtri and said, "the current guys have no one to talk to and take advice. I don't know if Ravi is guiding them but maybe he has other things in his hand. You can't tell everyone to go out and play your game, express yourself, this approach may work with someone like Sehwag but this will never work with (Cheteshwar) Pujara, so these things the coaching staff need to realize."

Yuvraj also spoke about other topics, criticizing the squad selection for 2019 World Cup, reminiscing one of the worst days of his carrier in 2014 after the World T20 Final loss to Sri Lanka and disliking the running of his former club KINGS XI PUNJAB.
