Snowboarder Sean White is enjoying retirement: "I'm happy with my decisio

While discussing his ongoing partnership with Ralph Lauren, the former Olympic gold medalist told news that he's "leaning on" his life after retirement.

Legendary snowboarder Sean White officially retired from snowboarding earlier this year. While saying goodbye to such an important figure may be bittersweet, White said he is enjoying life after retirement.

"I've had a great journey, and I think having the ability to choose when to retire pushed me to have other things in my life that I wanted," the 35-year-old told news.

White, only 19 when he competed at the inaugural Winter Olympics, ended his racing career at the Beijing Winter Olympics in February.

Now the Californian native is focused on what's to come, including turning to fashion with his new athletic lifestyle brand Whitespace and his ongoing partnership with Ralph Lauren.

"It's great to have time to work in my company, my free space, and my travels, and now I'm working here with Ralph Lauren," she said. White recently held an event in honor of the company's new book, Polo Shirt Ralph Lauren.

The hardcover book features images of Ralph Lauren's iconic shirts, including the model worn at the Olympics.

"Obviously [Ralph Lauren] is a tremendous sponsor and supporter of the Olympics and an athlete like me," White told news.

Additionally, White launched Whitespace, an active lifestyle brand that he and Jesse White - his collaborator and brother - hope will "inspire the next generation of athletes." "It seems like the gates open as soon as you realize you have time to do things you didn't have time to do before, but that's awesome," White said of what will happen to him once retirement becomes possible.

But that doesn't mean retirement is exactly what he envisions.

"Oh my God, no," White said with a laugh. "I've been swamped. I've been to Los Angeles, New York, Greece, France, Monaco, Maldives, Dubai."
