Sir Anthony Hopkins to play guy who conserved 669 children

For the millions watching at home it was an unforgettable moment in British TV history.


In February 1988 on '' s That ' s Life! a man called Nicholas Winton came face-to-face with several of the 669 Jewish kids he had actually saved from the Nazis prior to World War 2.


A shock reunion, it exposed an exceptional story - one which has actually now been developed into a Hollywood film.


And also it is set to star Port Talbot'' s Sir Anthony Hopkins as the Holocaust hero dubbed the British Schindler.

s life Managing those rescue efforts, along with ensurinE brand-new residences were found for those displaced, Sir Nicholas worked relentlessly to conserve thousands of lives.


He was always haunted by the thought of all those he was not able to aid as well as never actually chatted regarding his efforts. Consequently his tale of heroism would go largely unprecedented.


That was till some 50 years later on when Sir Nicholas'' s partner uncovered a scrapbook in their attic room describing everything her other half had actually done, consisting of the names of all the children that he had helped leave.
