Singapore will become the world's most accessible country for the disabled
By 2030, Singapore will become the most accessible country
for people with disabilities. The Singapore government has issued a roadmap to
improve various facilities for people with disabilities in the country,
including employment, education and care, and meeting their needs in public
places.
It proposes to provide facilities to 40% of the disabled including employment, study concessions. An audio signal system will be made available on each of the four roads to enable visually impaired people to cross the road.
Alastair Ong, manager of diversity, equity and inclusion client solutions in Singapore, suffers from cerebral palsy. Ong says this new plan for the disabled will enable them to do daily work independently and fully integrate into society. Consultant Chia Yong of Foo Kwok LLC is not working.
They say, I have done LLB, but no lawyer in the court was willing to intership. This new scheme will remove many such difficulties.
