Shahrukh's Son Still In Jail For Two More Days Hearing On October 13.

Key Sentence:

  • Shah Rukh Khan's son has been lodged in Arthur Road Jail since October 8

The hearing on Shahrukh's son Aryan Khan's bail application began today (October 11) in the Sessions Court, and the court has ordered the hearing to be held on October 13, meaning that Shah Rukh's son Aryan will remain in jail for two more days. Aryan's lawyer Satish Manshinde had filed his bail application on Saturday, October 9.

Senior lawyer Amit Desai, who is fighting Salman's case in the hit-and-run case, had argued on behalf of Aryan in court. Notably, Shahrukh Khan's son in the drugs case was in the NCB lockup from October 2 to the afternoon of October 8 and has been in the Arthur Road jail ever since. On October 8, the court rejected Aryan's bail application.

What happened in the courtroom?

In court, Desai said Aryan was the only person in the case from whom no recovery had been made. Following Desai's argument, the NCB has sought time to file a reply in court. NCB's lawyer Chimelkar said it usually takes a week for the NCB to file a response. The facts that Desai is talking about are not valid. We will put the investigation documents in the record. Give me at least 2-3 days.

Violent arguments between Aryan and NCB's lawyer

Aryan's lawyer Desai argued that the NCB had two days to respond after the bail application was filed on Friday. In the this time, it can be seen in the media reports that he is constantly making arrests. Another NCB lawyer, Setna, said there was no agency in the case. We received the bail application only yesterday. So we have asked for two days. That's right. We usually want seven days.

Aryan's lawyer Satish Manshinde said this was not a typical case, but the court had ordered the next hearing to this held on October 13 at 2.45 pm.

NCB arrested another foreign national from Goregaon in a cruise drugs case. The investigating agency found large quantities of cocaine from him. This citizen is Nigerian. His name is Okaro Uzama.

Aryan should be granted bail: Lawyer Rizwan Merchant.

In a conversation with Divya Bhaskar, Rizwan Merchant, Sanjay Dutt, and Kangana's lawyer said Aryan should be granted bail as the investigation could continue and Aryan could always be present to the inquiry. The NCB was not designed to seize small packets of drugs but to seize thousands of kilograms of consignments. The NCB does not dare to look at the elephants sitting behind the crocodile of narcotics.

Aryans are non-bailable: Lawyer Genghis Khan.

Aryan has been prosecuted under non-bailable clauses as the case belongs to the NDPS (Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act) Special Act, and this is non-bailable. In this case, even if the commercial quantity of drugs is not found, the bail can be canceled, as happened in the case of Riya Chakraborty.

Bail is thus granted in a single day, but when bail is applied to the Sessions Court, the court may seek a report from the investigating agency. The investigating agency is bound to report to the court, and the NCB may seek time for that. However, the NCB cannot avoid this report for more days. Unless the NCB files the information in court, the accused cannot be granted bail. Aryan Khan has been charged under sections 8 (c), 20 (b), 27, 28, 29, and 35 of the NDPS.
