Sensex Increases 226 Points, Nifty Closes At 16496; HCL Tech And TCS Rise In Value.

Indian stock markets closed higher on the first day of the week. The Sensex rose 226 points to close at 55,555. At the same time, the Nifty climbed 46 points to close at 16496. HCL Tech, TCS, Bajaj Finance, Nestle, Bharti Airtel, and others closed higher on the Sensex. HCL Tech rose 4.37 percent to close at 1166.00. 

TCS rose 2.20 percent to close at 3635.75. However, M&M, Bajaj Auto, Ultratech Cement, Power Grid Corp, ITC, and others closed lower. M&M fell 2.53 percent to close at 765.95. Bajaj Auto fell 2.16 percent to close at 3670.00.

Geo added 54.7 lakh, new customers in June.

Once again, Reliance Jio, the country's largest telecom company, has surpassed Airtel and Vodafone-Idea (VI) in terms of adding new customers. Geo said 54.7 lakh new customers, in June. Earlier, the company had added 35.5 lakh new customers, in May. At the same time, Vodafone-Idea's 42.9 lakh subscribers have declined. Even in May, VI had lost 42.8 lakh subscribers.

Shares of Nuvoco Vistas were listed at about 17 percent discount

Nirma Group's cement company Nuvoco Vistas is listed on the stock exchange. Shares of Nuvoco Vistas were recorded at about a 17 percent discount. 

The stock is listed on the NSE at Rs 485. The company had issued an IPO worth Rs 5,000 crore, which was 1.71 times subscribed.

US stock market conditions

Earlier, US stock markets closed higher. The Dow Jones closed at 35,120, up 0.65 percent. The Nasdaq was up 0.19 percent at 14,714, and the S&P 500 was up 0.81 percent at 4,441.
