Then scientist uses the sequences that they had assembled and looked through previous metagenomic analysis of a variety of different types and found that this Redondo virus was specific only in human studies. That scientist was able to accumulate very interestingly although this was done simply by looking at sequences without actually culturing the virus itself so in the top graph they are looking at the identified viruses and where those Redondo viruses found.
This virus is not found in animal or environmental studies but they were found predominantly in human samples.
