Saroj Khan Death : Bollywood's "Masterji" Dies With Heart Failure At Age Of 71.
Bollywood Choreographer Saroj Khan died of a cardiac arrest at 71 age. Saroj Khan fondly called 'Masterji' by stars whom she choreographed. The veteran choreographer directed over 2000 songs in her long and storied career. Saroj's most famous collaborations were with actors Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi.
Saroj was in Hospital since June 17 after she complained of breathing difficulties. The choreographer had tested negative for COVID-19. Saroj breathed her last at the hospital at around 2:30 am on Friday. Tributes poured in for the ace choreographer.
Born in 1948, Saroj Khan started her career as a child artist at the age of 3. Graduating to a back-up dancer in the 1950s, she worked with choreographer B Sohanlal. Saroj Khan started working as a choreographer with Geeta Mera Naam.
While working with Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit in the 80s, the 90s, Saroj khan career touched new heights. Mr. India, Nagina, Chandni, Tezaab, and Thanedaar had some memorable songs choreographed by her. Saroj Khan collaborated with Madhuri again in Kalank,2018. Saroj Khan won three National Awards for Best Choreography.
Saroj Khan won the awards for Devdas, Jab We Met, and the 2007 Tamil film Shringaram. Saroj Khan's signature moves in Hawa Hawai, Ye Ishq Haaye, Ek Do Tee, etc are remembered to these days. Saroj Khan also worked on TV as a reality show judge between 2005-2010.
