The season 18 finale includes appearances by Drew and Jesse Williams' favorite characters, April Kepner and Jackson Avery, who kiss on screen and prove they're back together.

Thursday's finale of Grey's Anatomy season 18 brought fans absolute joy: the return of not one but two of our favorite characters, Dr. Jackson Avery and Dr. April Kepner - finally reunited to the delight of Japril fans!

Sarah Drew, who played April in the 2009-2009 hit Shondaland, told news when she returned to the set and her character "wanted to go home."

While she made a surprise appearance last season during the penultimate episode of the couple Jesse Williams, when Jackson talked April into moving with him to Boston and taking his daughter with him Drew said he felt different this time.

"It was an unreal experience because I was there with April when I came back last season and just worked with Jesse," the 41-year-old actress said. [I] didn't even work with my crew because This time, it was a separate unit that recorded this episode. "This time, star Cruel Summer has to return to the halls of Gray Sloan Memorial Hospital in real form." on stage, walking the halls that I've rambled on and on over the years and working with so many people I love is such a great gift," he said. "It's very surreal."

After spending nearly ten years at Gray's, Drew takes every opportunity to put his clothes back on and revisit his lifetime. Even though it is been 4 years since he hung up his white coat, he said when he was at Gray Sloan, he felt it wasn't the time.

"I worked with Kevin [McKeed] and Chandra [Wilson] and Kim [Raver], and we walked and sat between the doubles, and I feel like I was here yesterday. I feel so ordinary and normal, but we've been through four years of our lives since then. So it was a wild experience," he said.
