Russia-Ukrainian War: ISKCON temple in Ukraine opens doors for blocked people
Amid rising tensions in Ukraine, ISKCON opened the temple's doors to those in need in the Eastern European country. "ISKCON temples all over Ukraine are ready to serve those in need. Our worshipers and temples must serve those in need. Therefore, the doors of our temple are open for worship," said ISKCON Kolkata Vice President Radharaman Das, Saturday.
ISKCON has more than fifty-four temples in Ukraine and believers, and our temples are trying to serve others in any way we can. This morning we received the latest news from our devotees in Kyiv, also by the grace of Lord Krishna, they are all safe, also our 54 temples are also secure, said Radharaman.
"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Our ISKCON fans in Ukraine are one step ahead. When life throws lemons, they make lemonade and share it with others. In these difficult times, our faithful are busy serving others at risk. Their own lives," said the Vice President of ISKCON Kolkata.
"In the past, sometimes the war in Chechnya, our pilgrims served those in need, especially the elderly who were confined to their homes and had no one to take care of them. By risking their lives, the ISCKON congregation turned to the people. Many even died while serving in the Chechen wars. The same spirit exists in these difficult times, and worshipers are working to serve well the people stranded in military zones in Ukraine," said Radharaman Das.
Meanwhile, Raju Gopal Das, a devotee of the Hare Krishna Temple in Kyiv, shared a video about the situation in the city. He said: "The concern among believers is stable. However, everyone is scared and worried. So we have prepared a temple for the devotees.
