Rose Leslie from Game of Thrones on how she and her husband Keith Harrington overcame past addictions

"It's something Keith will recognize forever, but it's up to him to start drinking again," Rose Leslie told Keith Harrington.

Rose Leslie tells how her husband Keith Harrington overcame addiction.

"It's essential for Keith to recognize him because he's an addict," the 35-year-old The Good Fight graduate said on the cover of Harper's Bazaar UK in June 2022.

He added: "The AA community has created a loving space to feel heard and made sure he's not alone. But if there weren't rehab, he would be in a completely different room now."

Leslie added: "I've learned a lot about addiction, and it's something Keith will forever recognize, but it's up to him to start drinking again. No babysitter can stop him from doing what he decides to do... I'm not putting pressure on myself. He's responsible for his behavior.

According to Harper's Bazaar UK, the couple bought a second property in Suffolk, where they plan to leave after Harrington finishes performing Henry V at the Donmar Warehouse in London.

"We will make a house; we will try to make friends. We will only use our son!" she joked with her 14-month-old son. "In London, we fire on all cylinders, and when we get to the countryside, we can turn everything off.

In August, Harrington first opened up about her battle with addiction, telling the Sunday Times that she had "been going through some pretty awful things" since Game of Thrones ended in 2019.

"Things that happened to me after Thrones ended and during Thrones were quite traumatic and involved alcohol," he said. And you feel like there's no way out; that's how you are. And sobriety is going, 'No, I can change,'" Harrington continues.

A a leopard changes its spots. I just think it's the most beautiful thing. It helps. I hold on a stick to it, the idea that I can make a significant change in who I am and how I live my life.
