Rihanna may not be following in the footsteps of the Met Gala, but she's making her mark this year too
A life-size marble statue brought him to the event to welcome guests at the Greco-Roman Gallery at the Met Museum.
Mom-to-be Rihanna, a Met Gala regular and a former co-host of the show, always gives a great look personalized to the star-studded event.
But this year, singer Diamonds isn't in attendance, and we wonder how she'll interpret the theme and put on another iconic maternity look at the feet of the Met.
But Rihanna wasn't completely absent from the Met, despite not attending the most significant fashion night in person. A life-size marble statue brought him to the event to welcome guests at the Greco-Roman Gallery at the Met Museum.
Her memorable cover inspired her sculpture in Vogue magazine, where she wore a red lace Alaa bodysuit with long opera gloves. The stunning statue replaces Eirene in front of the museum's center, "usually the most famous marble goddess in the Met."
Sharing photos and videos of her statue on Instagram, Rihanna wrote, "Close the meeting with marble! What could be more gold than that? Haha! Thank you, @metmuseum and @voguemagazine, for this historic tribute! you all were meant for it!"
