Ricky Martin has denied allegations of domestic violence
A restraining order has been issued against Ricky Martin in Puerto Rico. People reported that unidentified persons have accused him of domestic violence and asked the court to give a protection order.
The accuser did not initially go to the police. Still, Puerto Rican police intervened to try to execute a restraining order against Martin, which failed because they "couldn't find him" (according to a police statement, via People).
Beyond that, not many details are available, but a representative for Martin sent a statement to People denying the allegations, calling them "completely false and fabricated." The information continued, "We firmly believe that when the facts of this matter come to light, our client Ricky Martin will be fully acquitted."
Martin is currently barred from contacting the person filing the complaint, and the people explained. that "a judge will then decide whether the order should apply."
People also pointed out that this happened shortly after Ricky Martin's former manager, Rebecca Drucker, sued the singer for more than $3 million, saying Martin "made millions of dollars" over two time periods, 2014-2018 and 2020-2022, having no commission because Drucker paid him.
The lawsuit also accuses Drucker of helping Martin through "potentially career-ending charges" in which he "shown up unscathed" because of him. He also said Martin was "encouraging a toxic work environment" and accused him of threatening and trying to "force" him to sign a nondisclosure agreement.
