Rahul Gandhi asks Rajnath Singh: Have Chinese occupied territory in Ladakh?
On Tuesday Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asked the defence minister Rajnath Singh whether the Chinese military have occupied an Indian territory in Ladakh. The question was raised by Gandhi after Rajnath Singh, on Monday, took a jibe at Congress’ election symbol, after Gandhi kept asking the government of the border situation with China.
Rajnath Singh’s hand remarks:
Singh had earlier said,” Haath mein dard ho to dawa kije, haath hi jab dard ho
to kya kije.” The couplet means that medicine is applied to hand when it pains,
but what one could do when the hand itself is the cause of pain, referring to
Congress’ hand election symbol.
Rahul Gandhi retorted today and asked the burning question in everyone’s minds
at the moment and tweeted,” Once RM is done commenting on the hand symbol, can
he answers: Have the Chinese occupied Indian territory in Ladakh?”
Indo-China border dispute:
After the heavy military build-up by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA),
where they brought in more than 5000 soldiers,
along the Eastern Ladakh border, Indian security forces intervened and
resisted to let the Chinese carryout deeper incursions. Since then, both the nations’ military have
been locked in a stand-off as China also moved heavy vehicles with artillery
guns and infantry combat vehicles, near the Indian Territory.
Since then diplomatic talks have been on and Ministry of
External Affairs (MEA) said that both the countries have decided to “peacefully”
resolve the border dispute. Both India and China have promised to seek
consultation and engage diplomatically to come to a conclusion.
Now the government is coming under the pressure of the opposition and Rahul
Gandhi has urged the centre to come clean in this highly critical matter.
