Rachel Madow reveals that MSNBC evening talk show will switch to a weekly format

"I still have all this other iron in the fire, all the things I'm working on and want to achieve," Rachel Madow said when announcing the new schedule for her show.

Rachel Madow is cutting MSNBC next month.

The 49-year-old political commentator announced that his evening television show, The Rachel Madow Show, would not air until Monday in a weekly format.

Referring to his recent break, Madou said he "doesn't need another long break."

Instead, he said, "Here's the plan. I'm back; I will be here all month, Monday through Thursday night. Now, you'll be more than this for big news events and things like pre-election campaigns."

He added, "I'll be here this month," and then, starting next month, beginning in May, I'll be here every week. I'll be here Monday night to give myself more time to work on some of the other stuff I cook for MSNBC and NBC." A writer for the network told The Hollywood Reporter that guest presenters rotate to take Mado's place temporarily.

Also, on Monday, Madou said: "I still have all this other iron, all the other things I'm working on and want to achieve, nothing fast, everything takes a long time, and I'm still working on everyone."

In January, Maddo told his audience it was "going to take a long time" to help film Ben Stiller based on his book and podcast, Bag Man. Madou has hosted the eponymous series since 2008. The political news show is based on the previous radio show of the same name. Over the years, he has been criticized by conservatives for his liberal political stance.
