Producer Vinay Sinha of the cult classic film Andaz Apna Apna passes away.
Andaz Apna Apna is a film that everyone from every generation knows & cherishes even today, 25 years after its release. It is a film full with comedy of errors & hilarious one-liners & some crazy fans are also well versed with the famous dialogues of the film by heart. Though the film did not do great at the box office when it had released but much later it garnered the fame it always deserved.

On Friday, January 24 it was reported that the producer of the classic comedy film passed away at the Holy Family Multispeciality Hospital, Bandra. Confirming the sad demise of her father, Priti Sinha, daughter of Vinay Sinha said, "He had a heart history but he was working then also. He was hospitalised two weeks ago for stomach ache. He was alright and was going to be discharged yesterday but he passed away in his sleep last afternoon."
The father-daughter duo was also planning a sequel to Andaz Apna Apna since last year as the film completed 25 years. Sinha had produced many TV serials & films in the 90s like Chor Police, Naseeb, Rafoo Chakkar & many others.

A prayer meeting is also going to be held on January, 28 for the late producer. The last rites however, were performed on Friday.

Aamir Khan was the first to share the sad demise of the producer on social media. He said, “Saddened to hear about the demise of Vinayji, the producer of Andaz Apna Apna. It will remain one of my most memorable experiences and films. My heartfelt condolences to Vinayji's family. May his soul rest in peace."




Komal Nahta, Bollywood’s trade analyst also took to Twitter to share his condolences & said, "Vinay Sinha, producer of films like Andaz Apna Apna, passed away a few minutes back. May his soul rest in peace.”


Film Analyst Atul Mohan was no behind in mourning the death of the producer & tweeted saying, "#SadNews Producer #VinaySinha passed away few hours back. Vinay ji is known for producing #AndazApnaApna #RafooChakkar #ChorPolice and TV serials. He was also vice president of #IMPPA. He was presently working on few projects which included sequel of #AndazApnaApna. Om Shanti."

 

Actor Kabir Bedi also took to Twitter & remembered his dear friend Vinay by tweeting, "Deeply saddened by the passing of my dear friend Vinay Sinha, who gave Bollywood one of its most enduring comedies, Andaz Apna Apna and gave me a friendship that endured from my earlier days in Bollywood. Eternal love and respect for you."
