PM Narendra Modi cancels rally after being stuck on flyover

PM Modi on Wednesday, cancelled his visit to Punjab. PM went there as he had to address a rally in Punjab’s Ferozepur. But the rally was cancelled due to bad weather conditions and protests. The PM was stuck on a flyover for 15-20 minutes amid protests, said the Ministry of Home Affairs.

According to the sources, the Centre is now considering taking action against certain Punjab Police officers under the Special Protection Group (SPG), following an alleged security breach during PM Modi’s visit to the state on Wednesday. The Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday added that, ‘Additional security to secure any movement by road was not deployed. After this security lapse, it was decided to head back to Bathinda airport’.

Controversies have begun on what was the actual reason and if the protest was already planned before PM’s arrival. According to a recent report by Aaj Tak, PM Modi went to Rashtrapati Bhavan to meet President Kovind where he described to him about the whole situation. PM Modi shared a tweet saying, ‘Called on Rashtrapati Ji. Thankful to him for his concern. Grateful for his good wishes, which are always a source of strength.’ on his personal twitter account.

Before having a meeting with the President, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu talked about the incident with PM Narendra Modi.
