Peta Murgatroyd and Husband Maks Chmerkovskiy Take a Trip to Ojai

Dancing with the Stars is a television show that aired in the United States. Alum and her husband are enjoying some quality time together after a stressful few months due to his involvement in Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Peta Murgatroyd is enjoying some quality time with Maks Chmerkovskiy.

The 35-year-old former Dancing with the Stars pro shared cuddled-up photos with her husband hugging and kissing from a quick trip to Ojai, California, via Instagram.

Murgatroyd captioned the photo, "Ojai for a hot minute."

It's been a tumultuous some months for the couple, who have been married since 2017 and have a 5-year-old son named Shai Aleksander. Chmerkovskiy, 42, recently returned to the United States from his native Ukraine, where he was staying at the Russian invasion in late February. He was able to leave the country by early March, only to return for a second trip to assist refugees.

"The entire experience was terrifying," Chmerkovskiy said earlier this month. "My life has been forever altered." "There were so many horrible something  that happened to me while I was there," Chmerkovskiy said. Some were elderly, while others were young families with children. It was terrible... I felt terrible."

Russia's assault on Ukraine continues after its forces launched a large-scale invasion on February 24, Europe's first major land conflict in decades.

Murgatroyd discussed her feelings about her husband's decision to return to the area to help others in a Q&A session on her Instagram Story in March.

"I'm fine. However, with so many 'things' going on, she wrote, "In response to a fan's question about her husband's trip to Poland. "I was nervous and unsure at first, and I didn't want him to leave again. But I'm confident he made the right choice."

"There was no way he could stay and observe. I'm just pleased, "She went on at the time. "However, I have my anxious days!"
