Onstage at the 2022 Brit Awards, Idris Elba suffers a wardrobe malfunction with his pants zipper

The Luther star tried to hide the evidence by holding his cue cards in front of it, but viewers had already picked up on it.

Due to an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction, Idris Elba found himself in an awkward situation on stage at the 2022 BRIT Awards on Tuesday night.

The 49-year-old Luther star was preparing to present Adele with the album of the year award for her new album 30 at London's O2 arena when he noticed the fly on his black pants was down. Elba, who was also dressed in a pink Gucci bomber jacket and sunglasses for the event, quickly tried to hide the evidence by holding his cue cards in front of his groin as Adele took the stage, but viewers had already picked up on it.

"Has Idris Elba's fly come undone?!?" After noticing the wardrobe malfunction, one user wrote:

Another user remarked, ""Idris Elba looking fly... oops," one person joked, while another added, "Why the hell are people complaining that Idris Elba's fly was open at The Brits?" They act as if that isn't the best possible outcome."

"Idris Elba, the Gucci gang's president, has his fly undone. That's fantastic for him "a fourth user was added. "You know, it is been part of the conversation," Broccoli explained at the time, "but it's always difficult to have the conversation when we have someone in the seat."

"I think we've decided that until No Time to Die has kind of run its course and Daniel has been able to, well, we've all been able to, reap the benefits of Daniel's wonderful tenure, we're not going to think about or talk about anybody else, actors to play the role or storylines or anything," she added. "All we want to do is live in the moment, in the present."

Broccoli also stated that she knows Elba and considers him to be a "magnificent actor."
