On Tuesday, Megan Thee Stallion's 27th birthday, the rapper will announce the launch of the Pete as well as Thomas Foundation — and she'll be giving back uniquely.
As per a press release, the foundation is a non-profit organization that raises awareness through campaigns and programmatic activities, with a primary focus on education, housing, and health and wellness.
Meanwhile, on her birthday, she is also shocking a senior citizen, a student, and a cancer survivor with financial assistance.
To honor the values instilled in her by her parents, Holly Thomas as well as Joseph Pete Jr., the foundation is named after them.
"Launching the Pete as well as Thomas Foundation is easily one of the most significant endeavors that I'll ever be a part of in my career," the rapper of "Captain Hook," said in a press release. "My family brought me up to help others and to give back, so I'm extremely proud to be able to do so. I owe it to those who do not have access to resources and support services to use my platform to make a significant difference in their lives."
The foundation will support students in high-need communities by providing scholarships, school supplies, as well as resources in the education sector. Meanwhile, the foundation will focus on housing issues for senior citizens, single mothers, and families who have been affected by financial hardships or natural disasters.
The foundation will support cancer care, mental health, and food insecurity in the health and wellness sector.
Megan debuted her new Coach campaign last month, titled "That's My Ride," with her trademark swagger.
"I care to work with Coach is just so nostalgic to me because I've been wearing this brand my whole life," Megan said of her latest collaboration with the heritage fashion house.
"When I was younger, my grandmother might take me shopping and buy me little Coach wristlets and small purses – and now that I'm older, I get to wear everything and get all the big purses," she explained.
Following her graduation in December, the rapper embraced her giving side in an interview with Rolling Stone, saying she'd follow through on her promise to open an assisted living facility in her hometown of Houston, which she first revealed in 2019.
"I'm still going to access these assisted living facilities," she said, "and I'm going to hire new college graduates." "Nobody wants to hire you right after graduation. They believe you lack experience, so I'd like to create a space where you can gain it."
