Nishikant Kamat Drishyam Director Fighting For Life And Death.
Bollywood filmmaker is on life support and fighting at a hospital in Hyderabad. The 50-year old filmmaker was diagnosed with secondary infections and Chronic Liver Disease. Actor Sharad Kelkar has affirmed to ETImes that the famous filmmaker is on life support and fight, in a critical condition.
Filmmaker Milap Zaveri had earlier shared a fond memory with filmmaker Nishikant Kamat and revealed that after telling to someone at the hospital, he was apprised that Nishikant Kamat was leading for death and life. "Just spoke to anyone who is with Nishikant in the hospital just now. Nishikant Kamat hasn’t passed away yet. Yes, he is v critical and fighting death and life. But he is yet alive," Milap Zaveri had posted.
Nishikant Kamat is identified for directing Bollywood films like the Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer 'Drishyam', and Irrfan Khan’s 'Madaari'. He has also best worked with John Abraham in two films, 'Force' and 'Rocky Handsome'. He had also helmed 'Mumbai Meri Jaan' featuring R Madhavan, Soha Ali Khan, Irrfan Khan, Paresh Rawal, and Kay Kay Menon.
Earlier the hospital had shared in a statement, "Mr Nishikant Kamat (50 years, male) was taken to AIG hospitals, Gachibowli, Hyderabad on 31st July with abdominal distention and jaundice. He has been diagnosed with secondary infections of Chronic Liver Disease.
He is in the Intensive Care Unit for continuous monitoring under the supervision of a multi-disciplinary team of senior consultants comprising of gastroenterologists, hepatologists, critical care, and others. His condition is critical but stable.”
Nishikant Kamat is also a very famous director in Marathi cinema. He had called the shots for hits like Riteish Deshmukh starrer ‘Lai Bhaari’ as well as Swwapnil Joshi’s ‘Fugay’ and 'Dombivali Fast.
