Nazia Hassan: Nightingale of Pakistan once was 1980's Queen of POP.
Indian and Pakistan have given many influential names in the past in Music, especially in Singing but very few in POP. Today I am taking you all 40 years back when One beautiful girl was ruling British charts, won Film fare awards at the age of 15.
She was so beautiful that her looks were compared to Diana at that time. I am talking about Queen of POP - Nazia Hassan, a Pakistani singer who won hearts of millions in India, Pakistan entire Asia, Britain in mid-'70s and '80s with her fantastic Singing.
We all remember her the famous song "Aap Jaisa koi Zindagi mai aae" which was super hit song in the '80s. There is a story behind that, Feroz khan spotted Nazia in London. He was very impressed with her style of Singing. He immediately contacted her and told her to join Biddu, and in no time she gave a blockbuster song "Aap jaisa koi".
Nazia Hassan: Nazia was born in 1965 in Pakistan. She was the first superstar of Asia. Being a girl and create a successful album at that time was not a small achievement in Asian countries. She not only ruled the pop world in Entire Asia but she was very popular in western countries for her Singing and her beautiful looks.

- Nazia Hussian started singing when she was ten years old. She started singing as a child artist in many TV shows.
- Zahra Hassan was her sister and Zohaib Hassan, his brother, was a singer who was involved in many songs with Nazia.
- Nazia and Zohaib album selling record is phenomenal it was more than 65million records at that time. She was queen pop of south Asia.
- She was the only celebrity who was highly famous on British media. Nazia has also sung songs in English which reach to millions in western countries. She was the first Pakistani to be featured in British charts.
- Her albums were the best selling in Asia she broke all the records at her peak. Disco Deewane song featured in 14 countries worldwide and gained massive fame through that song.
- She received youngest singer award from Filmfare in India. She was chosen as best female singer 1982.
- Nazia was highly educated; she completed education from London Richmond American university in London and law from London uni. She is a perfect example for all the kids today. This girl completed her studies then pursued singing. She was a law student.
- She used to do lots of charity, and she worked hard by creating a trust called BAN, which was to stopped drug use in Pakistan youth.
- Nazia's popular Albums: Boom Boom in 1982, Young Tarang (1984), and Hotline (1987) which was her last album with Zoheb her brother. Her last album, Camera Camera (1992), was part of a campaign against drugs.
- Along with her brother, she also appeared in several television programs. In 1988 she appeared in Sung Sung with music maestro Sohail Rana.
- They also hosted the first-ever pop-music stage show, Music '89, produced by Shoaib Mansoor. Her success played a crucial role in shaping Pakistani pop music scene.
- Hassan was also a recipient of Pakistan's civilian award, Pride of Performance. In addition to singing in films, Hassan also engaged in philanthropic activities and was appointed by UNICEF as its cultural ambassador in 1991.
- Hassan died of lung cancer in London on 13 August 2000 at the age of 35.
