A guy in his 50s, a man in his 70s, and two men in their 80s were killed.
"This is yet another tough day for our province as we send our condolences to four more families who have lost family members to COVID-19," Premier Tim Houston said in a statement.
The province also reported 7 new hospital admissions, bringing the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 complications to 45. This number includes 13 people who are receiving intensive care.
Patients in the hospital range from five to 91, with a median age of 61.
According to the press release, the vaccination status of those in the hospital is:

- 23 (51.1%) are immunized (two doses).
- 1 (2.2%) is only partially immunized.
- Unvaccinated people account for 9% (20%) of the population.

After 1,632 tests were completed, the province reported 294 fresh PCR-confirmed COVID-19 cases on Friday.

However, the province declared on Friday that the state of emergency would end at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2022, after two years.
