Microsoft aid Friday stops all new sales of its products and assistance in Russia.


On Friday, Brad Smith, Microsoft’s president, declared that Western businesses boycotted Russia after raiding Ukraine the previous week. Microsoft didn’t clarify whether existing services will continue to be available.


Microsoft stated it’s working near with the U.S., U.K., and the European Union governments and is discontinuing “many aspects” of its company in Russia in keeping with coordinated government embargoes.


“We consider we are most effective in helping Ukraine when we take definite measures in coordination with the judgments being made by these governments, and we will take further steps as this circumstance persists to grow,” Smith noted.


Earlier this week, Microsoft stated it was working to keep Ukraine advised of cyberattacks. Attackers have moved after Ukrainian military organizations and factories and some other Ukrainian government agencies, Smith noted in a separate post on Monday.


Other U.S. tech firms have restricted their involvement in Russia amid the Ukraine attack. Apple declared Tuesday it would cease selling products on its Apple shop in the nation. Google has paused all ads in Russia, while Airbnb stopped all functions in Russia and Belarus.
