Michael B. Jordan also Lori Harvey split then more than a year: "Both are heartbroken

35-year-old A Journal for Jordan actors and 25-year-old Harvey split after dating for a year and a half, sources close to the couple confirmed to news.

"Michael and Laurie are heartbroken," the source said. "They still love each other."

"Michael was very mature during their relationship and ready for a long-term commitment. As a result, he loosened his guard and opened up emotionally in a romantic relationship for the first time," the source added. "They're having fun together and bringing out the best in themselves."

A Jordanian spokesperson could not be reached for comment. A Harvey representative did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment. The two attended the 2022 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Beverly Hills on March 27, which marked their red carpet debut. In addition, model/influencer Harvey participated at the Cannes Film Festival last month on May 17 and appeared alone on the red carpet for a screening of Final Cut (Coupez!). Rumors of trouble between the two have circulated in recent weeks since their return from France.

In November, the couple celebrated their first anniversary, months after Jordan made their Instagram relationship official in January.

In December, she told The Hollywood Reporter that she had "finally discovered what love is" in her relationship with Harvey. The Black Panther actor explains why he is comfortable sharing his relationships in public: "He's a special person to deal with." In April 2021, Jordan told news why he decided to speak openly about his love life for the first time.

"I'm still private, and I want to keep it, but I felt like the moment where I wanted to expose it and move on," he said. "I'm just happy. As you get older, you become more comfortable about the [public] business that we are in. So, this is the moment for me, I think, to take responsibility for that and then get back to work.
