Mehran Khan: Three leadership tips on how can you be a successful digital entrepreneur in young age
Leadership is a challenging role and requires your content effort and determination. For me, challenging yourself continuously, leading by example and having a vision are the most critical factors. Let me discuss each of them one by one.
Challenging yourself:
When you challenge yourself, you are leaving your comfort zone. Also, as the saying is,” the real magic happens when you are out of your comfort zone.” Being out of comfort zone, you are required to find ways to handle a situation; you need to grow and learn. With the achievement of all these, your character as an individual grows and you become a learned individual. Similarly, repeating it time and again, instead of making it a habit would allow you to adapt to new changes and try new things in life.
Developing this habit can help you in keeping your knowledge up to date and transforming your sub-niche in the digital world to the changing trends. Thus, apart from personal growth, you come to know that you are on the right path, the path of growth, and this one of the biggest things that a leader has to do.
Lead by example:
Expecting others to do, as you want is often impossible (without the right technique of course). However, at the same time, you can’t handle everything on your own; this not humanly possible. So here comes the role of leading by example. Setting up a visual roadmap for your followers is going to encourage them in a better way, and they are higher chances that they are going to follow you.
If they see you in the office on time, they are going to make sure that they are punctual as well. However, if you will allow yourself to be late, then don’t expect punctuality from them as well. Setting verbal or even written rules won’t work. It is applicable for every activity, whether in the digital or the online domain.
Having a vision:
Leaders need to give insight into a company or venture. Vision sets the direction and pace of progress. Without vision, there is no way that your company can grow. For all of this, you need to have a strong understanding of what is going around you and how is it impacting your industry. Only then you can be in a position to provide direction and foresee a future for your venture. In the digital sector, it gets even more critical as various factors are impacting simultaneously along with the existence of a lot of distracting forces. Thus, developing a vision is another tip that I often give to young digital entrepreneurs.
