Megan Patrick explains Easter egg engagement night in her new video for My Left Hand

Megan Patrick's left-hand looks especially shiny these days thanks to country singer Mitchell Tenpen's engagement ring—and in her new music video, she's ready to tell fans how it all came to be.

Patrick's video for his new single "My Left Hand," broadcast exclusively by PEOPLE, features true-to-life footage of Tenpenny's sweet moment knelt at Losers Bar & Grill in Nashville, where they met last November.

"I don't know," the singer told PEOPLE. Mitchell told me we were going to a "friendship meeting" with some of our friends in the back room. We've been there a million times, so it means nothing to me. He seemed a little stressed that day, but he told me he had to go to the studio first and he would meet me at Losers. So I just decided that he was stressed about going to the studio."

The video, which alternates between a snippet of a proposal and a video of Patrick, 35, singing a romantic song, is full of Easter eggs tailor-made for the couple, including elaborate photos and personalized decorations arranged by Tenpeni, 32.

Fans with Eagle Eyy will see photos of the couple competing together at the 2019 CCMA Awards, as well as neon signs bearing the names of their songs (including "Somebody's Got Me," which Tenpenny wrote for Patrick, and "Wild like me" what he wrote about him).

"It made me cry. It was a moment when I knew we had something delicious, and his feelings for me were not temporary. And to this day, I always shed tears every time I hear him play live."

There's also a glimpse of Tenpeni wearing a turquoise ring, a color she'd carefully tucked into Patrick's engagement ring. "We both love turquoise jewelry and often buy it for each other when we're out and about," she explains. "I love that she put a turquoise ribbon on my ring because it feels like most of us do."

Patrick also noted that she chose to wear the same dress she wore when filming the rest of the video because it gave the video a "nostalgic feel."

Sweet footage of the proposal shows the happy couple wiping away tears as they pose for photos and celebrate with friends and family, including Patrick's father, stepmother, sister and niece, and Tenpeni's mother and brother.
