Meat Loaf's wife announces upcoming life celebration service honoring musician's legacy
"I want it to be a gathering that he would be proud of," said Deborah Aday, the late rock star's wife.
Meat Loaf will be remembered with a memorial service shortly. Deborah Aday, the "Bat Out of Hell" rocker's wife, announced on Thursday that she plans to hold a memorial service in his honor. "I want it to be a together that he would be proud of," Aday, who married the actor in 2007, said.
"The love or appreciation we have received from friends and fans all over the world has been overwhelming, and it brings me great comfort." Meat Loaf, whose original name was Marvin Lee Aday, died on January 20 at 74.
At the time, Aday gave an exclusive statement in which she stated that the artist was her "world...from the day we met."
"The grief I am experiencing as a result of my husband's death is heartbreaking." I was lying next to Michael when he took his last breath, and my grief is indescribable. I've always addressed him by his given name because I didn't consider him to be 'Meat.' "I am dazed by the outpouring of love I have received from people all over the world," she said.
"Our life together was an adventure," she said. He was my best friend, confidant, and lover, and I already miss him terribly. The legendary singer's agent, Michael Green, issued a statement highlighting his six-decade career after his death.
Green said, "Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight, surrounded by his wife Deborah, daughters Pearl and Amanda, and close friends."
"His illustrious career spanned 6 decades, during which he sold over 100 million albums worldwide also appeared in over 65 films, added Fight Club, Focus, Rocky Horror Picture Show, or Wayne's World.
