Lisa Minnelli and Lorna Luft helped create a fragrance in honor of Judy Garland's mother

On June 9, the day before Garland turns 100, his children Lisa Minnelli, Lorna Luft, and Joey Luft celebrate the release of Judy - A Garland Fragrance. Created by perfume designer and cosmetic chemist Vincenzo Spinnato, this delicate scent pays homage to Hollywood fragrance icons (Judy Garlands rose, named after its star, combines notes of dark orchid, pink pepper, and tonka bean). Bottle (its red color is inspired by the ruby ​​red sandals of her Wizard of Oz Dorothy, and the shape is reminiscent of her impressive moves in her unique dance number "Get Happy").

To mark the launch, which will be available in a $140 limited edition on June 10 and a $160 permanent collection this fall on judygarlandfragrance.com, Spinnato and the iconic princesses spoke exclusively to news about making this exceptional fragrance. What is your earliest memory of your mother's scent?

Minelli: "I remember my mom spraying her perfume before she walked out the door."

Air: "At 5, I can remember how it smelled! Her clothes and bedroom stood out the most to me.

What memories of your mother would you like to cover with this fragrance?

Water: "First, I want the fragrance to be as broad as hers; That's why we made it unisex. I also wanted to immortalize what my mother was wearing so that anyone who wore it could feel its warmth." Minelli: "Lorna had the idea to create a fragrance in honor of my mother's 100th birthday."
