Lauren Cox dressed up as her new Barbie doll for her 50th birthday in New York

Twin wins for Lauren Cox, Inventing Anna actress, who paired her Barbie outfit Thursday as she celebrated her landmark 50th birthday on the rooftops of New York.

The 49-year-old actress celebrated her upcoming birthday Thursday night, dressing up as her newly released Barbie doll.

Cox arrived at his birthday party on the rooftop of the Moxy Hotel in New York and walked the pink carpet holding his Barbie doll. Both Inventing actress Anna and fellow actress Barbie wore bull-blood dresses with tulle skirts and corset corsets.

As seen on social media, the star stripped off her bodice to reveal (like her Barbie) a full silver bodysuit under a tulle skirt at some point in the evening. Cox, who officially turned 50 on Sunday, told NEWS the day before that the inspiration for the dolls from Mattel's iconic series felt "unreal."

"I didn't expect it. I love the clothes," Cox said with a laugh. "What excites me the most about being in the world is that young trance people can see it and maybe buy it and play with it and find out that it's a Mattel Barbie for the first time, like a trance guy. "I was like, 'Can we make him look more like me? And more African-Americans?' Cox remembers the feedback he gave the creative team. "And we talked about accents and faint accents because I'm primarily blonde now, but I'm black, so I needed a dark approach. And we had a whole conversation about how they couldn't do that, but they could do a dark, dim light.
