Kunjin Virus(KNVS): A zoonotic virus first isolated in Northern Queensland.
Kunjin virus disease is a viral infection caused by a Flavivirus found in AUSTRALIA. Most common in northern Australia. This virus is spread by the bite of a banded mosquito.
This mosquito found in freshwater(In spring, summer, and irrigation water). The other name of kunjin virus is west Nile virus, the family of Flaviviridae and genus of Flavivirus, (WNV). The name of West Nile virus derives from an Aboriginal clan living at Mitchell river closer to the virus was isolated in kowanyama, northern Queensland.
The chicken is tested weekly for the mosquito-borne disease. Apply full sleeve shirt or full pants on our body and use to mosquito killed tubes.
There is no vaccine against kunjin virus.
