Kourtney Kardashian's wedding veil includes a touching tribute to Travis Barker's head tattoo

Personalized Kardashian Dolce & Gabbana bridal look, including a sentimental nod to the groom

The design team of Courtney Kardashian and Dolce & Gabbana worked closely to create her "dream" bridal look for her May 22 wedding to Travis Barker in Portofino, Italy. And the bride made sure to add a special tribute to her groom.

As Vogue first reported, the Kardashian veil includes an image of the Virgin Mary based on the religious iconography that Barker painted in the chapter. The words "Respect family loyalty" are stitched beneath the religious motif, echoing Barker's tattoo. The design also includes hand-embroidered flowers inspired by Portofino's gardens.

According to Vogue, the 43-year-old Poosh founder wore a tailored mini dress with a Dolce & Gabbana bodice in satin and lace that was "inspired by 1960s Italian underwear," according to Vogue. She completed the look with pointy pumps and a pair of tulle gloves, a favorite of the Kardashian-Jenner family. "Designing my dress with Domenico and Stefano was a dream come true," Kardashian told Vogue.

Barker, 46, also wore a Dolce & Gabbana (slim double-breasted suit), as did members of the couple's family, including their daughter - Kardashian is the mother of Penelope, 9, from her relationship with Scott Disick. The drummer is father to a daughter aged 16-year-old Alabama and 23-year-old stepdaughter Atiana, who served as bridesmaids in a matching tulle dress with embroidered red roses.

The couple's wedding ceremony occurred at L'Olivetta, a Dolce & Gabbana villa in Portofino, followed by a reception at Castello Brown, a castle overlooking Portofino Harbour.

And of course, the bride changed dresses again, swapping her white mini for a black lace design with a corset with a matching short black veil. At night, the couple danced – and kissed in matching white leather jackets, "Mr. Barker" and "Mrs. the Barker. The reception ended with a 72-hour extravaganza that began on Friday evening with a stylish welcome dinner at Ristorante Puny. On Saturday, the couple and their family put on their best Dolce & Gabbana for an afternoon cruise.
