Amid ongoing protests over women's rights in the United States following the repeal of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court ruling overturned many federal and state abortion laws and ruled that the Constitution would protect a pregnant woman's freedom to have an abortion - many celebrities opposed the introduction of anti-abortion laws in the country spoken of as the United States.

Rapper Kendrick Lamar joined the discourse as he walked out of the Glastonbury Music Festival in quite dramatic fashion, donning a bloodied outfit and crown — many likening him to "The Passion of Jesus" — in an attempt to highlight the women's rights movement.

The Grammy winner made a fiery appeal when he made his debut on June 26, 2022, after initially revealing that he would be part of the band for the festival's 50th anniversary in 2020.

The 35-year-old reportedly rapped while wearing a diamond crown made of thorns and fake blood running down his face. It was the title of a music festival in England, which closed with a performance of the Savior; his words were, "They judge you, they judge Christ. Cheers for women's rights."

Interestingly, the lyrics do not appear in the original song, but Lamar is said to have changed them to reflect the cancellation of Roe v. Cross.

According to a Vogue report, the diamond crown that also adorns the cover of her fifth studio album, titled Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, was bought by Tiffany & Co. The Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper wore the same hat at the festival.
