Jamie Lee Curtis Says Saying Goodbye to Halloween Cast Was "Hard"

Key Takeaways:

Laurie Strode's role as Jamie Lee Curtis has come to an end.

When she recently wrapped the final installment of the Halloween sequel trilogy, Halloween Ends, which is set to hit theatres this October, the actress told PEOPLE (The TV Show! Adrianna )'s Costa that it was tough to say goodbye to the cast and crew.

"Five years ago, the last thing I ever thought I'd do was another Halloween movie," she admits. "Then there's the fact that I've now made three of them. They've gotten a lot of positive feedback. They are extremely popular. This most recent film is intensely emotional."

"Costa inquires, "Were you crying on set?" Curtis, 63, responds, "Of course!" I'm a crier. I said my goodbyes to a group of people who had been so kind to me, so warm and loving. Laurie Strode's 'S' had been kicked out of her — she had so much going on emotionally, this sweet girl — and they were always there."

"It was difficult to say goodbye to them," the founder of My Hand In Yours adds.

Curtis first portrayed Laurie in John Carpenter's 1978 film adaptation. With Judy Greer as her daughter as well as Andi Matichak as her granddaughter, she reprised the role for Halloween 2018. In last year's Halloween Kills, they faced off against the evil Michael Myers once more.

Curtis shared sentimental behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram when she announced the completion of Halloween Ends last month. "For me, the Halloween movies came to a bittersweet conclusion. On these three films, I've made wonderful friends and worked with incredible artists, and today my part in the film is finished, marking the end of the trilogy for me."

She went on to thank Blumhouse, Trancas, Miramax, Rough House Pictures, and Universal Pictures, saying, "It's all just because of the fans who have always supported me and also, more importantly, Laurie."

"As well as my nemesis, James @jamesjudecourtney," who plays villain Myers, Curtis thanked her "Strode Strong women" costars Judy Greer, Matichak, and Kyle Richards. "I adore this cast and crew, and I'm going to miss you all. We can't wait for the movie to be released to the public. #LYM @halloweenmovie #wearelauriestrode You're going to #LYM @halloweenmovie #wearelauriestrode"
